The twenty guilder bill with the mate is the first twenty guilder bill released by the Nederlandsche Bank. The front shows a mate which is also the reason for the nickname. The twenty guilder bill was issued between 1926 and 1938. The signatures on the twenty guilder bill are from:
- DNB Secretary Delprat and DNB President Vissering;
- DNB Secretary Westerman-Holstijn and DNB President Leonard Trip.
The twenty guilder bill is part of the series of bills put into circulation in the early 1920s, and in addition to the 20m guilder bill, there are the:
– twenty guilders
– Ten guilder Zeeland girl
– Twenty-five guilder William of Orange (orange type);
– Twenty-five guilder William of Orange (blue type);
– Fifty Guilders Minerva
– One thousand guilders Gretel Seel.
The bill was eventually withdrawn from circulation in 1945 at the money purification plant.
