Netherlands 25 cent ministry of war (1951-1954)
Quality: UNC
Due to strict regulations abroad and joining NATO in 1949, the Ministry of War, now Ministry of Defense, had special coins issued to military personnel of The Royal Army for exercises outside the Netherlands between 1951-1954. These coins served as payment for purchases at the Dutch Military Canteen Service
The coins were issued as 1 cent, 5 cents, 10 cents, 25 cents, 100 cents and 500 cents. The 100 and 500 cents were rarer in circulation and manufactured by the NV Luxor Plastics of Amsterdam. The 25, 10, 5 and 1 cents by the Dutch Button Factory at Spakenburg. Due to lack of the 100 and 500, paper replacements were switched to paper.
