Netherlands 10 Cent 1985 Beatrix
The dime of Queen Beatrix is part of the series of coins designed by Ninaber of Eyben, and put into circulation in 1982. The series has a block system, where half parts and fours are used. The dime has one block because it is a tenth, and the quarter (of which four go into a guilder) has four. The dime is made of nickel, weighs 1.5 grams and has a diameter of 15 millimeters. In addition to the dime, during the period of Queen Beatrix still issued the following coins:
– 5 cent Beatrix;
– 25 cent Beatrix;
– 1 guilder Beatrix;
– 2 ½ gulden Beatrix;
– 5 guilder Beatrix;
– 10 Guilder Beatrix 1994 Silver;
– 10 Guilders Beatrix 1995-1999 Silver;
– 50 guilder Beatrix 1982-1998 Silver.
The dime also has proverbial sayings, such as: "For a dime in the first row," or "A dime on its side. In 2002, with the introduction of the euro, the dime was replaced, the term dubbeltje is still occasionally used for the 10 euro cent coin, but was mainly the nickname of the 10 guilder cent piece.
