About the gold 14 guilder:
The gold 14 guilder piece of the province of Holland is one of the highest gold coins from the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands. Like many other coins from the republic, the coin features the text "Concordia res parvae crescunt" which means "unity makes small things great. The coin is made of 917/1000 gold, weighs 10 grams and has a diameter of 27 millimeters. The coin has on the obverse the coat of arms of the republic and the denomination of 14 guilders. Coin has on the reverse a rider on horseback with sword and below it the coat of arms of the province of Holland.
The coin is part of the provincial coins from the time of the republic, and was not an everyday currency at the time because of the considerable value it represented. The edge of the coin has a cable pattern, to prevent the coin from being pruned (pieces of gold would be removed from the coin and the person who did this would get something extra from it), this was also forbidden at the time only it still occurred so often that measures were taken to prevent it.
The 14 guilder coins were struck by different provincial mints, and so there is also a 14 guilder coin available from the province of Utrecht:
