Both nickel and silver versions of the original had been minted. A design contest was held for the reverse of the coin, in which 55,000 children from the last two years of 3,000 elementary schools participated.
The circulation was exactly equal to the population of the Netherlands at that time. This refill is 24 karat gold-plated on silver. Silver grade: 925/1000
