After the money purification, all bills had been replaced by new money, only there was still no possibility of minting new silver coins due to scarcity. Therefore, at the enthronement of Queen Juliana new coin bills were designed to replace the old bills featuring Wilhelmina. As part of the series, the two and a half guilder coin bill with Juliana was also designed The design of the new coin bills had an image of the new queen surrounded by twice the letter "J," standing for Juliana. The new bills were signed by Finance Minister Pieter Lieftinck, who was also responsible for the July and September 1945 money purge. In addition to the two and a half guilders, there is also the:

The coin bill of two and a half guilders with Juliana slowly disappeared from circulation in the mid-1970s, the first silver rijksdaalders already came into circulation in the late 1950s but many coin bills had been issued in the meantime.
