This 100 guilder 1860 banknote uses handmade, white paper. The front of this bill shows an ornamental border with a medallion of a helmeted female head at the top, which is supposed to represent the Dutch Virgin. The choice of a portrait on the bill was made for security reasons, as they were supposed to be difficult to imitate. The back of this bill shows guilloches in the color blue. These too are difficult to imitate and thus a good security feature for paper money. This 100 guilder 1860 was printed in 10 different variants. Namely 10 different signature combinations. This banknote of one hundred guilders 1860 which you can purchase concerns the variant with the signatures of Delprat and Vissering type 1915.
A hard-to-obtain banknote and now available once for collectors.
