Somalia 1 Ounce 2009 African Wildlife Elephant

De Somalische Olifant is vanaf 2004 geslagen. Deze relatief nieuwe munt is ook één van de weinige zilveren 1 ounce munten met een Afrikaanse achtergrond.  The coins weigh 1 Troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams. The years 2004 through 2008 were published in an edition of only 5,000 each time. As this coin has attracted increasing numbers of enthusiasts worldwide, the circulation increased to 130,000 in 2013. Compared to the American Eagle, Canadian Maple Leaf and Austrian Philharmoniker of which a total of more than 90 million coins are likely to be minted in 2014, this is still a limited circulation.
