In 1929, the bill of fifty guilders with Minerva put into circulation. The Minerva bill was designed by Jacques Jongert, and is in a completely new style compared to previous banknotes. The bill has the signatures of DNB President Vissering and DNB Secretary Delprat on the front. The bill was printed from 1929 through 1931. It therefore belongs to the series of banknotes from the 1920s, and in addition to the fifty guilder Minerva, there are also the:
– 10 guilder Zeeland girl
– 20 guilders mate
– 25 guilder William of Orange (orange type);
– 25 guilder William of Orange (blue type);
– 1000 guilders grietje Seel
The fifty guilder Minerva bill was finally withdrawn from circulation in the 1945 money purge.
